Clinical Specialities
The department focuses on various specialties to fit every woman's need. Among those specialties are:
- General Obstetrics and Gynecology for prenatal to menopause care
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine for high risk pregnancies
- Fetal Intervention for a full range of fetal care, therapy and surgery
- Minimally Invasive Surgery for office based solutions to the unique health issues of women
- Gynecologic Oncology for prevention, diagnosis and management of cancer
- Reproductive Genetics/Prenatal Diagnosis for fetal genetic disorders
- Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology for gynecologic issues amoung pediatric and adolescent patients
- Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for endocrine issues and infertility
Educational Programs
The department houses a broad educational program which includes a clerkship for BCM medical students, a residency program and fellowship programs.
The residency program is a fully accredited, four year program in Obstetrics and Gynecology with 48 residents.
In addition to our residency program, the department has fellowship programs in the following areas:
- Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
- Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Fetal Intervention
Research Programs
The department has an active research program wherein physician scientists and clinicians are engaged in basic science, translational, and clinical research taking full advantage of the outstanding research infrastructure at Baylor College of Medicine.
