More than 300 BCM alumni attended the Annual Medical Alumni Reunion Weekend held May 5-7.

The weekend was filled with a wide array of activities including a scientific symposium, day trip to Moody Gardens, tours of BCM facilities and an Awards Gala and Dance. The gala honored the Elite 50 Year Class of 1956, the Silver Class of 1981 and Distinguished Faculty and Alumni.

The 2006 Medical School Distinguished Alumni were James Key, II, M.D., Class of 1970, and Charles T. Stephenson, M.D., Class of 1953. Distinguished BCM faculty were Donald T. Donovan, M.D., a professor in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery as well as senior associate dean in the Office of Student Affairs and 1976 BCM graduate, and Richard Goodgame, M.D., a professor of medicine in the department of gastroenterology at BCM. This year's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Distinguished Alumna was Katrina Kelner, who received her Ph.D. in 1981. Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Wayne Riley, M.D., M.B.A., resident alumni, became president of the Baylor College of Medicine Alumni Association at the awards banquet.
