The trust game: Researchers' bios
P. Read Montague, Jr., Ph.D.
Dr. P. Read Montague Jr. is a professor of neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine and director of its Brown Human Neuroimaging Laboratory. He has earned an international reputation through his work in theoretical neuroscience, a field that investigates the computational properties of the brain. His published work has appeared in journals such as Nature, Science, Nature Neuroscience, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. This work has also been profiled in Scientific American, The New York Times, Time Magazine, and other major news outlets.
Montague has a unique understanding of how networks of diverse devices compute effectively and efficiently. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Auburn University, a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and postdoctoral work in theoretical neuroscience from Rockefeller University and The Salk Institute.
Brooks King-Casas, Ph.D.
Brooks King-Casas is an experimental psychologist with a background in cognitive neuroscience and psychopathology. His current interests focus on neural mechanisms of complex social interactions. In particular, his work uses paradigms borrowed from behavioral economics to characterize neural interactions between social partners and within social groups. He received both an A.B. in philosophy and a Ph.D. in experimental psychopathology from Harvard University.
Damon Tomlin
Damon Tomlin is a graduate student in the neuroscience department at BCM. He received his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2001.
