October is breast cancer awareness month

RSS icon HOUSTON -- (October 3, 2008) -- At Baylor College of Medicine, doctors and researchers are doing important work to treat and prevent breast cancer, which is the most common type of cancer in women, according to the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at BCM.

Read here about some of these efforts, including the development by a BCM scientist of a three dimensional cell culture system to grow and study breast cells and the push by another doctor for more patients to participate in important clinical trials.
