The
Methodist Hospital is a general, non-profit 1,527-bed acute
care hospital, serving as the primary adult teaching hospital for
Baylor College of Medicine. The Methodist Hospital active staff
is utilized to provide the resident with the opportunity to participate
in clinical and operative patient care on a private service. The
Methodist Hospital also supports a teaching clinic, which provides
the resident with additional opportunities for more independent
patient care and management in a clinical setting.
Ben
Taub General Hospital, a 575-bed Level I Trauma Center, has
a substantial outpatient program and acute trauma census. The hospital
provides training in both adult a pediatric orthopedics with an
emphasis placed on direct resident responsibility for patient management
under the supervision of the full-time faculty.
Veterans
Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is a 1,138-bed referral hospital.
The Orthopedic Service provides training in all phases of adult
orthopedics to include Joint Replacement, Spine, Hand, Foot and
Ankle, Shoulder and Knee, Trauma, and Tumor Surgery. The emphasis
is on direct resident responsibility for patient management under
the supervision of the full-time faculty.
St.
Luke's Episcopal Hospital is a 931-bed general private hospital,
which provides Baylor Orthopedic Residents with an excellent clinical
and operative experience on a large General Orthopedic Services.
The Baylor Arthroscopy and Foot Clinics are based at St. Luke's
Episcopal Hospital.
Texas
Children's Hospital is a 456-bed non-profit hospital and is
currently the largest pediatric hospital in the United States. The
Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Service provides a comprehensive experience
in the clinical and surgical management of scoliosis, congenital
disorders, trauma, and developmental abnormalities under the supervision
of the full-time faculty.
