Diagnostic Tests
Patients requiring diagnostic tests, such as CT or MRI scans, will be referred to The Methodist Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital, or another facility approved by your insurance carrier. Your neurosurgeon's secretary will schedule the tests for you. Please note that many insurance carriers require pre-approval of diagnostic tests. We urge you to read your policy carefully and to discuss with us any questions you might have.
If using the facilities at The Methodist Hospital, you will need to preregister at the hospital prior to having any tests done. Generally, the hospital will contact you by phone to obtain the necessary preregistration information. Early preregistration is advised to allow sufficient time to obtain the necessary information and to satisfy any special requirements that your insurance company might have. Patients utilizing facilities in The Methodist Hospital are encouraged to contact the Patient Registration Department directly, at (713) 790-6300, to expedite the preregistration process.
