Clinical Interests

Neurodegenerative diseases: Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Research Interests

Cellular and molecular basis of neuronal injury in these neurodegenerative diseases. Main focuses are genetic and environmental factors contributing to nigral dopamine neuron degeneration, and novel target therapy for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Other research interests also include the role of oxidative stress and inflammatory in ß-amyloid metabolism relevant to Alzheimer's disease; and dysfunction of diencephalic-spinal cord dopaminergic pathway in restless leg syndrome.
