Message From the Director
As the director of the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program, I am very excited about
your interest in our program. Your combined degree training will take place at the largest medical center in
the world, which means you will have the opportunity to learn and work in an environment conducive to
tremendous growth and success. I am strongly committed to supporting each of our students in the pursuit of
their goal to become a physician scientist.
I believe that my combined degree training in an NIH M.D./Ph.D. Program has been instrumental to both my research endeavors and my clinical practice. The joys and rewards of discovery and patient care promise a lifetime of excitement and challenge. I encourage individuality, and I applaud you for choosing academic medicine as your career.
