Kelly Woodard Graduate Student Leadership Award

Kelly Kahl Woodard
1979 – 2003
The Kelly Kahl Woodard Graduate Student Leadership Award is dedicated to the memory of Kelly Woodard, who was a predoctoral student in our MVM training program. Kelly joined the Department in 2001 and passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 2003. In the brief time she was part of our Department, Kelly showed a true dedication to hard work and excellence, having passed her qualifying exam, co-authored a paper, and submitted an NSF fellowship application within her first year-and-a-half of graduate school.
This award is given annually to a student working in the Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology in recognition of outstanding achievements or potential for future achievements in the areas of scholarship, research, and leadership.
