Application for admission to the Graduate Program in the Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology requires the following items be sent to:

- One completed application form from The Graduate School, Baylor College of Medicine. Application forms may be obtained from the above address, or down-loaded from here (an electronic application may also be submitted here)
- One copy of official transcripts from each college and university attended.
- Three letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the applicant's scholastic qualifications. Note the following requirements regarding letters of recommendation. If the applicant has previously matriculated in graduate or professional school, at least one of the letters must come from the mentor of that experience. If the applicant is currently working in an academic or industrial research setting, a letter from the employer must be submitted.
- Official results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Additionally, official results of a GRE subject test in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry will strengthen an application. Applicants are encouraged to take both the GRE and subject area examinations early in the fall, as reporting of results requires 6-8 weeks. No final decision regarding any application can be made without an official report of test results. Have official results sent to Baylor College of Medicine, reporting number 6052 (do not confuse with Baylor University).
- For foreign students, documentation of English language skills (TOEFL Examination)
- A $30 non-refundable filing fee. (This application fee cannot be waived, but it can be avoided by submitting an electronic application.)
