Section of Nuclear Medicine Research

Medical Physics Group

The Medical Physics Group, which is directed by Adrian LeBlanc, Ph.D., is currently part of the section of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Medicine. The Medical Physics group conducts space flight related biomedical research. Our group is currently funded to perform bed rest studies testing countermeasures to disuse musculoskeletal atrophy and computerized densitometry and MRI studies on the International Space Station in collaboration with investigators at University of California, San Francisco and the University of Milan, Italy.
