Welcome to the Division of Nephrology
The Division of Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine is dedicated to:
• Teaching future leaders in nephrology to develop research in kidney disease, hypertension, kidney transplantation and the disorders caused by kidney diseases.
• Promoting the careers of promising physicians and scientists in kidney research.
• Providing excellent care for patients with kidney disease, hypertension, kidney stones, and transplantation and dialysis treatment.
With the excellent academic and clinical environment of BCM (For 2009, U.S. News & World Report ranked BCM 13th overall among the nation's top medical schools for research and 7th for primary care. BCM also is listed 13th among all U.S. medical schools for National Institutes of Health funding, and No. 2 in the nation in federal funding for research and development in the biological sciences at universities and colleges by the National Science Foundation). The Nephrology Division uses these substantial resources to provide training and clinical care. Nephrology Division Faculty concentrate on creating new projects and training opportunities for fellows in training. The excellence in research of Baylor provides Nephrology Division physicians with a strong infrastructure for its clinical and research programs.
