Affiliated Clinical Facilities
The Hematology-Oncology Section at Baylor College of Medicine cares for patients in The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Special centers of expertise include:
- The Breast Center, providing comprehensive care for patients with breast disease.
- The Cancer Center, an evolving entity that will eventually incorporate all of Baylor expertise in cancer research and therapy.
- The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy, involved in bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and cutting-edge gene therapy for malignancies and genetic disorders.
- The Chronic Disease Prevention & Control Research Center, a center for cancer prevention research as well as biobehavioral research about populations at risk for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and asthma.
- The Myeloproliferative Diseases Clinic, concerned with conditions such as polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia.
