Affiliated Hospitals
The Department of Medicine has active affiliations with several outstanding teaching hospitals located in the Texas Medical Center. Patients are admitted from all 50 states and from around the world.
BCM medical students and resident-physicians in the Graduate Medical Education training program learn and work in these hospitals, which have a combined total of more than 4,000 beds.
In recent years, BCM and its affiliated hospitals have completed more than $1.2 billion in construction and renovation projects that provide unsurpassed educational surroundings for clinical and research training.
- St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital: The primary affiliated private hospital of Baylor College of Medicine.
- Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center: The primary health care provider for more than 137,000 veterans.
- Ben Taub General Hospital: A public 650 bed acute care facility caring for over 108,000 emergency patients each year.
