Affymetrix Arrays (GeneChips)
The MCF is now offering GeneChip® technology from Affymetrix to all researchers both here at Baylor College of Medicine and outside BCM. Investigators can purchase their own Affymetrix GeneChips® or purchase them from us. The core always has the following chips in stock because of high usage:
NOTE: If you are interested in a different array from these stock arrays, please let us know as soon as possible. Some arrays can only be purchased in large lots and we may require the user to purchase the lot.
All of the Human, Mouse and Rat GeneChips® are available, but users SHOULD NOT compare data between the old and new arrays, because probe sets will not have the same sequence or even contain different probe sets, even though they may represent the same gene.
Please visit and register with the Affymetrix website. It is free and you can access gene lists, protocols, and many other useful reference materials. Click on the array for more details about each array.
