Stem Cell Core Quality Control and Cell Lines
(Currently the cells and services are only for bollaborators or BCM investigators)
The stem cell core at Baylor College of Medicine offers two embryonic stem cell lines (WA01 and WA09) originally from WiCell and one hiPS cell line generated at BCM by Dr. Thomas Zwaka (hiPS TZ16). The core also offers quality control services for investigator generated cell lines: Tumor formation assays, Karyotype, FACS analysis, Immunoflourescence and Alkaline Phosphatase.
The cells received were expanded and frozen as banks. A variety of tests were then performed on the banked cells to confirm the quality.
