The Cell Processing Facility (CPF)

The CPF contains 11 Class 10,000 manufacturing
suites for preparing cell therapy products, in
addition to centralized facilities for cell freezing
and storage, flow cytometry, cold storage, cell
separation and analysis. Therapeutic products are
prepared according to Good Manufacturing (GMP)
and Good Tissue Practices (GTP). The facility has
prepared more than 4000 therapeutic cell therapy
products.

The staff have experience in the preparation of:

  • Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells
    • Bone Marrow
    • Peripheral Blood Stem Cells
    • Umbilical Cord Blood
  • Donor Leukocytes for immunotherapy
  • Antigen-specific T cells directed to:
    • Epstein-Barr virus
    • Adenovirus
    • Cytomegalovirus
  • T cells bearing chimeric antigen receptors
  • Pancreatic Islets
  • Liver Progenitor Cells
  • Cells for Cardiac and Brain injury repair
  • Tumor Vaccines
  • Transduced and transfected cells

Products have been  prepared for:

  • CAGT protocols at the Methodist and
    Texas Children’s hospitals in Houston
  • The Production Assistance for Cellular
    Therapy program
  • Biotechnology companies
  • Investigators and clinicians at institutions
    worldwide
