Essential Functions and Duties

Essential Functions and Duties:
Provides responsible technical assistance in support of a research project by completing assignments requiring a basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to a particular academic or scientific field.
Works under minimal supervision by a higher-level research staff member.
Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
Requires excellent good tissue/cell culture experience and good molecular biology experience.
Performs all general tissue/cell culture procedures including culture human and mice cell lines, cell proliferation assay, DNA transfection, DNA and RNA purifications, ELISA, flow cytometry, PCR, sorthern, western blots.
Experience in working with animals is preferred.
Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
Documents results of experiments.
Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
Enters data into research database.
Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.  

Minimum Education

• Required: Bachelor's degree in a basic science or equivalent education.
• Preferred: Master's degree in a basic science.

Minimum Job Experience

• Required: One year of directly related experience.

• None required.
