Essential Functions and Duties

Positions in innate immunity and immune regulation.
Postdoctoral fellow positions funded by NIH are available to study immune responses against cancer and suppressive mechanism of regulatory T cells in cancer therapy [Immunity 20:107 (2004), Science 309, 1380 (2005), Immunity, 27, 334-348 (2007) and PNAS 105, 15505-10 (2008)].
This position is offered to persons with a PhD interested in developing immunotherapy approaches to target cancer. Position will use advanced immunological and molecular approaches to understanding the innate immunity and mechanisms of signaling pathways by Toll-like receptors and other innate receptors. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to conduct independent research, to present their results at departmental and national meetings, and to prepare manuscripts for publication. Experience in immunology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or animal disease models is a plus. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a highly stimulating and interactive environment at Texas Medical Center.
