ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Performs cell processing and cryopreservation for the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy in the GMP facility.
Cultures multiple primary human lymphocyte lines over long periods.
Performs antigenic stimulations, transductions and transfections and other complex cell modifications.
Has an understanding of Immunology.
Develops and maintains computerized databases and electronic worksheets used for recording data, and works with the team to address any issues.
Generates production reports for patient files.
Assists in the development of new procedures.
Assures that activities are in compliance with FDA's Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Tissue practices regulations as well as standards set by other regulatory agencies.
Adheres to special cleaning and gowning requirements for the GMP facility.
Documents variances, notifies supervisor and quality assurance personnel in timely manner.
Assists in investigation of cause and any required corrective actions.
Maintains the supply inventory for the laboratory.
Maintain required record keeping on equipment and procedures.
Maintain and clean equipment used for production.
Assists in collecting data for QA/QC reports.
Assists in the assembly and auditing of patient processing records.
Assists in maintaining compliance with GMP reporting requirements and regulatory policies.
Assists in the preparation and writing of abstracts, reports, papers, and presentations on the activities of the cell processing group.
Responds to GMP equipment and facility alarms, which includes evenings and weekends.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
 
  • Required: Two years research laboratory experience with one to two years of experience in hematopoietic cell processing and cryopreservation.
  • Preferred: One year of computer programming and database development experience.
 
  • None required.
