Essential Functions and Duties

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in performing therapeutic cell processing and cryopreservation for the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
*Assists in performing therapeutic cell processing and cryopreservation for the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy.
*Inputs data into computerized databases and assists in the preparation of patient files.
*Assists in the development of new procedures.
*Assures that activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
*Maintains the supply inventory in the Cell Processing Laboratory.
*Assists in maintaining required record keeping on equipment and procedures.
*Assists in maintaining/cleaning/calibrating equipment used for cell processing.
*Assists in collecting data for QA/QC reports.
*Assists in the assembly and auditing of patient processing records.
*Assists in maintaining compliance with GMP reporting requirements and regulatory policies.
*Assists in the preparation and writing of abstracts, reports, papers, and presentations on the activities of the cell processing group.
*Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SKILLS:
Required: Aseptic technique, tissue culture, medical terminology, and computer literate.
Experience working with blood and blood products.  

Minimum Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.

 

Minimum Job Experience

  • Required: One year of research laboratory experience.

 

Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration

  • None required.

 

Additional Information

Preferred:
College degree with at least 1-2+ years experience as a Research Technician or Medical Technologist or specialized experience in the relevant area of GMP cell processing or flow cytometry.
