The GEM Core will aid investigators in the rederivation of their mouse strains into
a specific pathogen free state. This service will allow investigators to move mice
into SPF facilities from non-SPF facilities. The investigator will provide the core
with oviducts from female mice given a superovulatory regimen of gonadotropins and
mated with donor males. The investigator delivers the oviducts to the GEM Core by
9 a.m. on the scheduled day. The core utilizes oviductal transfer of one cell mouse
embryos from superovulated female mice to accomplish this task.
