A large piece of the tumor was obtained with a snare and
submitted for pathology.
Slide 1 - This pathology
slide at low power reveals that the surface mucosa is intact (top of each
section) and that the abnormal tissue is distant from the surface mucosa (bottom
of each section).
Slide 2 - Higher power reveals
that the tumor is arising from the muscularis propria (bottom of slide).
Slide 3 - The tumor shows
a low nucleus to cytoplasmic ratio and no mitoses.
Slide 4 - Immunohistochemistry
stain for CD34 stains faintly positive.
