About From the Labs
From the Labs is a monthly online newsletter designed to bring new information about research going on at the school directly to science and medical writers and editors. While some of its stories deal with new findings, others are designed to give you a sense of the kinds of science and scientists who are carrying out the many research projects at the school.
Ruth SoRelle, MPH, is the editor of From the Labs. The chief science writer for the BCM Office of Public Affairs, she was medical writer at the Houston Chronicle for 20 years and has worked in the medical field since 1972. The assistant editor is Dana Benson. Gail Sparks serves as editorial assistant.
Lynn Foltin is senior director for Institutional Web Management at Baylor and in that role oversees the design and the publication of the monthly newsletter. Ms. Foltin has been a senior communications specialist, assistant director of community relations, and director of communications and media relations in the BCM Office of Public Affairs. She was formerly lifestyles editor of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. Brian Kinkade is the web designer.
