Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in the Baylor Family Medicine Residency program!
The Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program includes six residents per year in the Baylor Family Medicine-Northwest track and four residents per year in the Baylor Family Medicine-Kirby track, for a total of 24 residents in our three-year program.
Geographically, the two tracks are centered around the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The Baylor Family Medicine-Northwest Health Center track, initiated in July 1997, is based out of a Harris County Hospital District neighborhood health center. The Baylor Family Medicine-Kirby track, initiated in July 2010, is based out of a private family medicine clinic in the Upper Kirby district of Houston. First-year residents are assigned to Texas Medical Center hospitals--Ben Taub General Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital--for inpatient rotations. Throughout the three-year residency, several rotations are also done at the VA Hospital.
Residents in both programs have abundant opportunities to pursue various interests during elective rotations in public or private settings. All residents are encouraged to individualize their learning experiences to better fit their learning needs and special interests.
