Krista L. Olson, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a long-standing member of the Baylor College of Medicine family. After completing her undergraduate studies at Yale University with a degree in biology, she graduated from BCM where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Olson then completed a surgical internship in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine followed by residency training in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Afterwards, she served on the Baylor faculty prior to being awarded a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California at Irvine where she served as an instructor in the department of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Olson is an assistant professor in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a member of the Baylor Facial Plastic Surgery Center. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Member of the the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Olson has published many scientific papers and has been an invited speaker at numerous scientific meetings. Her research interests include anthropometric analysis of different ethnicities as well as basic science research focusing on growth factors and their role in tissue healing.

Having grown up in Mexico, she is fluent in Spanish and is very active in several Hispanic and Latino volunteer programs. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and children.

Dr. Olson is a staff member of The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
