Academy Officer Duties
Chair
- Plans and implements meetings, events, and opportunities to exchange ideas and promote recognition of Academy members
- Serves as liaison to the Nominating Committee
- Promotes the Academy inside and outside of Baylor College of Medicine
- Fosters communications between departments and heightens awareness of the Academy across the continuum of the biomedical sciences
- Oversees all committees
- Is appointed for a two year term by the Steering Committee with input from the Nominating Committee
Past Chairs
- Serves as advisors to the chair
Chair-Elect
- Only serves every other year
- Directs activities in the absence of the chair
Director
- Oversees the daily administration of the Academy
- Oversees the activities of the administrative support staff
- Serves as a source of continuity
- Is Director of Faculty Development and Recognition
- Is appointed by the Dean of Medical Education
