Steering Committee:
The governing force of the academy. The duties of the steering committee are to oversee the activities of the academy. Each officer assumes responsibility for a specific area summarized below.

Program Committee:
Oversees the scheduling of academy sponsored educational lectures, guest speakers, and Think Tank sessions.

Education Day Planning Committee:
Suggests possible speakers to the steering committee. The steering committee then chooses the speaker. The chair, in conjunction with other members of the committee plans the activities of the speaker.

Educational Scholarship Committee:
Oversees the Academy Mini-Grant Program and the Showcase of Educational Scholarship.

Peer Mentoring Committee:
Oversees the development and implementation of the Educator Peer Coaching and Review Program for educational faculty members.

Nominating Committee:
In the summer of every other year, the nominating committee consisting of former chairs selects three candidates for chair-elect, which is then chosen by the steering committee. The past-chair shall serve as chair of the nominating committee.
