Curriculum Library
The Curriculum Library is designed to serve as a growing educational resource for faculty and administrators. Available for check-out are books and reprints of manuscripts covering diverse topics of interest including adult learning, teaching skills, research in medical education, problem-based learning, curriculum design, course planning, assessment of learners, peer mentoring and review, and other related domains. The library also contains bound volumes of Academic Medicine from 1991 to the present and current periodical subscriptions for Academic Medicine, Advances in Health Sciences Education, Evaluation in the Health Professions, Medical Education, and Teaching and Learning in Medicine. Items may be checked out through the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education in M220, DeBakey Building, Baylor College of Medicine.
Education Resource Center
The Education Resource Center (ERC) provides the administration of the electronic course management system, BECON, powered by Blackboard, Inc. This system allows faculty to provide course content online to students 24/7 without having to learn HTML or other special coding skills. ERC staff is available to assist faculty with course structure and best practices using electronic course support. In addition, ERC staff can assist faculty in the use of electronic teaching tools, such as Powerpoint, digital imaging, pod casting, and other electronic communication tools. Online information resources available through the ERC include MDConsult; Harrison’s Online; Exam Master; and UPTODATE. The ERC also maintains an online Faculty Toolkit on their Website that consists of an ever-growing collection of tools, templates, training, and software applications that faculty may access or download for their use. The various categories in the toolkit include:

The ERC Ed Tech Series presents 5-6 one hour workshops each year for faculty to inform them about the use of online resources, copyright, mobile applications and other topics. The WEBDigest is a bi-monthly, electronic newsletter designed to distill and condense medical educational technology information to apprise faculty about local ed tech events, reviewing and highlighting web sites they may wish to use to supplement lecture and/or curriculum content and informing faculty of current issues, best practices and latest trends in educational technology.

Creative Services
Creative Services is a self-supporting service department that provides biomedical communications services for the Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated institutions. has the qualified staff and the state of the art technology offer a complete range of services in art, photography, motion media and audiovisual equipment support. They also offer poster printing.

User Support Services
For desktop computer support and training, the Help Desk in User Support Services is the single point of contact for the college. You may contact the helpdesk by calling 713-798-USER (8737). This is your one-stop shop for help with wireless connections, setting up remote access for your home computer, virus protection software and many other services.
