EDICT BackPack Project

The EDICT BackPack Project compiles and makes available information about policies, programs, projects, promising practices, and other resources that have been demonstrated to help eliminate disparities in the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups in clinical trials.

In 2007, as an outgrowth of the EDICT Project, the Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine received initial funding for the BackPack Project from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Minority Health, with additional support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities and the DHHS Office on Women’s Health (Cooperative Agreement Number MPCMP051006-03). The BackPack Project Report provides additional background information.

We invite you to access the contents of the BackPack, and to nominate policies, programs, projects, promising practices, and other resources that have helped to eliminate disparities in clinical trials.

The BackPack will be updated regularly. If you want to be notified when new resources are added, click here to subscribe to the project mailing list.
