What is Mohs Surgery?
Mohs surgery is a specialized surgical technique that involves removing skin cancer layer by layer and intraoperatively examining the sections of each layer under a microscope to be certain all cancer cells have been removed. This state-of-the-art procedure is the most precise method for removing tumors while sparing normal tissue. Mohs surgery offers the highest success rate of all skin cancer treatments – up to 99% – minimizing both the chance of re-growth and the extent of scarring.
