Biographical Information
Mary Ellen Young, PhD, CRC, is Associate Director of the Brain Injury Research Center of The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in Houston, Texas. She also is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She received her master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (1978) and her doctorate in Counselor Education (1986) from the University of Georgia. She completed an NIDRR Career Development Research Fellowship with the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Spinal Cord Injury in 1991. She has taught in the Departments of Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Florida and Counselor Education the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She is a research specialist on the Baylor College of Medicine study of the sexuality of women with disabilities.
