BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Dunn is a statistician
with over 20 years experience in medical research. She is a Associate
Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, the director
of the Design and Analysis Unit and the director of the Data Analysis
and Coordinating Center for a multicenter study of neonatal seizures.
Dunn has collaborated and consulted on a wide variety of clinical
and epidemiological trials. Her statistical areas of expertise
include clinical trials, stochastic processes, and linear models.
Dunn received her Ph.D. in biometry in 1977 at the University of
Texas Health Science Center, Houston. She has held prior faculty
positions at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Northwestern
University Medical School, University of Texas Medical Branch
in Galveston, and University of Texas Health Science Center in
Houston. Her consultation and committee activities have been with
the Food and Drug Administration, the Veterans Administration,
National Cancer Institute, and the DeBakey Heart Center. She has
been involved in major epidemiological and behavioral studies
of blood pressure, cholesterol, cancer, and cardiovascular disease
prevention, examining the effect of minority status.
