Catherine Clubb Foley
Biographical Information
Catherine Clubb Foley, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, sited at the Center for Research on Women with Disabilities. She received her doctoral degree in educational psychology from Texas A&M University; she received her master's degree in communication disorders and her bachelor's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. In l994 she completed a NIDRR Career Development Post-doctoral Research Fellowship with the Southwest Regional Brain Injury and Research Center and with Independent Living Research Utilization.
Foley has taught teachers of special education at the University of St. Thomas, Houston; University of Houston Clear Lake; North Dakota State University; and Moorhead State University, MN. She has extensive experience teaching human development, as well as psychology, in addition to teaching in public school special education classrooms for over a decade. Presently, she does research in the psychosocial/psychosexual areas of women with disabilities, focusing on access and reproductive health issues for women with disabilities.
Foley has published a seminal article on housing considerations
for persons with disabilities, and numerous articles related to
independent living and to psychosocial/psychosexual issues of
women with disabilities. She has presented at numerous national
and international conferences.
