Evaluation of Paranasal Sinuses

Sinusitis is a significant cause of cough in children 18 months to 16 years old. In children, the sinus CT scan is the second most useful study, after bronchoscopy, in the evaluation of cough and thus this study should be pursued early in the work up of children.

Consultation: Allergy/Immunology, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Cardiology

Soft tissue lateral neck radiograph to evaluate the nasopharynx and adenoids may be of limited value.
