CMB Seminar Course

Nothing makes you more aware of the gaps in your knowledge than presenting your "airtight" experiments to a group of your peers. Once a year, starting in your second year, you'll present your research in a formal seminar setting to the rest of your CMB classmates. Not only will you develop intellectual rigor in this seminar course, but you'll also learn the fine art of presenting your story in a lucid way. CMB students leave Baylor with seminar skills that rival those of any Ph.D. student in the country.

Other Seminars

The real currency of scientific dialog is hearing about ongoing research, even before it gets published. Baylor College of Medicine is within a block or two of several strong academic institutions such as Rice University, MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. As a result, great science is being presented at a seminar approximately every two hours somewhere in the Medical Center. You can attend seminars on topics that range from the latest developments in cancer research to what's new in cell fate determination. Because of the prominence of these institutions, sooner or later, the most recognized scientists in the U.S.--as well as many from abroad--present their research here in Houston.
