Center for AIDS Research
The Center for AIDS Research, operated by Baylor College of Medicine-University of Texas at Houston, is located in Houston's Texas Medical Center.
The CFAR is a federally-funded center designed to support and facilitate multidisciplinary AIDS-related research activities at Baylor College of Medicine, UTHouston Medical School, and at eight other Houston area institutions.
Our CFAR is one of 20 NIH-funded AIDS research centers in the United States. Our particular strengths are in research on prevention of HIV disease, mechanisms of virus-host interactions, HIV and coinfections, pathogenesis and therapy of pediatric and adult disease, and infrastructure for international pediatric HIV/AIDS research.
