The Chronic Disease Prevention and Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine provides an integrated approach to research, education, demonstration projects, community programs and promotion of health policy to reduce the health disparities among culturally diverse, at-risk populations. The center also serves as the administrative home for the Intercultural Cancer Council and has supported international activities including:
- Participation in founding the International Consortium for Research on the Health Effects of Radiation following the Chernobyl nuclear accident
- Coordination of general healthcare and research partnerships in four countries of the former Soviet Union
- A multi-year consulting relationship with ExxonMobil Corporation to test the Oil and Gas Producer’s Strategic Health Management Program model
