Clinical Research Programs
C. Kent Osborne, M.D., serves as associate director for Clinical Research. Currently, we have four major research programs related to clinical cancer care:
These programs are supported by many sources including an NCI Breast SPORE and an NCI Prostate SPORE. We have also submitted an application for a Lymphoma SPORE jointly with the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and are planning a similar joint application for a Brain Tumor SPORE.

Bert W. O'Malley, M.D., serves as associate director for Basic Research. At present our focus is in three major areas:
Prevention and Population Sciences Program
This program, headed by Powel H. Brown, M.D., Ph.D., is actively engaged in defining better approaches to cancer prevention. Along with the Cancer Center, it sponsors major outreach programs to the public and to minority communities . Dr. Brown also serves as associate director for Cancer Prevention, Outreach, and Health Services.
