neurological disorders, neuronal migration disorders. Our research is aimed at elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in brain development, with particular interest focused upon disorders of neuronal migration, such as those seen in cases of lissencephaly. We are currently investigating the lissencephaly associated genes Lis1 (Pafah1b1), Reelin (Reln), and Doublecortin (DCX) and the genetic and biochemical roles they play in neuronal migration and brain development.
