Our program directors and faculty members are acclaimed leaders and teachers in their disciplines.

Carl E. Fasser, PA-C, Physician Assistant Program director, is nationally recognized for his academic leadership in PA education. As one of the original physician assistants in the United States, Fasser’s career has been remarkable as a teacher, researcher, and clinician over the past 32 years. He has received numerous teaching and service awards from his students and peers. Under his leadership, the Baylor PA Program was ranked seventh among physician assistant programs in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report (2003).

James R. Walker, CRNA, M.S., is nationally recognized as a leading academician in Nurse Anesthesia education. His teaching excellence has been well documented and his administrative leadership skills have made Baylor’s Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia one of the top 10 CRNA programs in the United States (U.S. News and World Report, 2003). Concurrently, Walker is chief nurse anesthetist at Ben Taub General Hospital. Also, he is the past president of the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
