Administrative Fellowship Program
Baylor College of Medicine offers an Administrative Fellowship Program for recent graduates of an accredited Master's of Health Administration, Master's of Business Administration or equivalent master's program.
The fellowship program is one year in length and is based in the Office of College Business Operations, headed by Carlos A. Rodriguez, M.B.A., vice president for Business Operations of Baylor College of Medicine.
The Administrative Fellowship program is designed to cultivate leaders in the field of academic healthcare by fostering close working relationships between the fellow and senior leadership of the organization while exposing him or her to a diverse array of operational activities.
- The fellow will have the opportunity to observe, interact, and work with the administrative and clinical leadership across the college, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields.
- The fellowship program provides the fellow with practical experience and leadership development through active participation in high level management activities and hands-on project work that includes, but is not limited to: operations, strategic planning, new business development, quality improvement, compliance, financial analysis, organizational development, marketing, e-business strategies, IT, research, clinical affairs, and education.
- The fellow will also have the opportunity to become a member of the Texas Medical Center Administrative Fellowship Association. This association includes all administrative fellows throughout the TMC. The members of this group have traditionally met once a month for lunch and a meeting with each institution's executive management team. This organization is an excellent way to promote networking skills and learn about the surrounding institutions in the TMC.
